Lilly Proulx
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER
Chemical Engineering & BioEngineering Department
Bio
Lilly grew up in Westford, Massachusetts, but we won't hold that against her. She has played competitive softball throughout her childhood and has continued to hone that talent on the UNH Club Softball team. You can find her layered up with at least 5 long sleeves at practice (layer layer layer! Or as the new Gen Alpha kiddos say, "slayer slayer slayer!"). The real heat is at her core though, as her Finnish roots helped her get approval for her very own personal sauna at the practice field - because of that, her teammates have to wear more than 5 layers. Nothing soft about playing against Lilly though - don't let that word fool ya. You'll be the fool for thinking that.

She is a sophomore Chemical engineering student and is a student admissions representative. She is known for being a D1 yapper (Allstate last year) and being skilled in all things factoring.

She is a recent late 2024 addition to the Tsavalas lab and is hoping to continue her career after her bachelors in consumer products (hopefully making a variety of ice creams; did you know that antifreeze proteins are in many ice creams to prevent 'freezer burn'? And yes! The Tsavalas Lab does make synthetic polymer bio mimics of antifreeze proteins and now that Lilly is on the team, looks like we will start putting them into homemade ice creams here .... ). She will be looking forward to finding her perfect project in the lab in Spring of 2025. Which likely will have to do with ice cream.
Project 1: blah blah blah - Something to do with Ice Cream ...
Coming Soon
This space will be used to describe Lilly's first project, when ready!
